Safety Security Associate Officer – Legacy Health Portland

Legacy Health is hiring a full-time Safety Security Associate Officer at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in Portland, Oregon.

In this entry-level hospital security position, you will help maintain a safe and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, employees, and physicians. The officer monitors hospital property, provides courteous assistance and information, protects buildings and equipment, and may be assigned to observe designated areas or behavioral-health patients.

Additional duties may include staffing security desks and operating Legacy Enhanced Security Screening stations. Screening responsibilities may involve X-ray scanners, walkthrough metal detectors, handheld metal detectors, and searches of belongings when required.

Pay Range: $20.24–$28.93 per hour

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong customer-service and communication skills.
• Ability to manage busy screening and queue areas.
• Ability to use computer programs and prepare clear, grammatically correct reports.
• Strong attention to detail and awareness of surroundings.
• Previous corrections, military, first-responder, behavioral-health, emergency-department, or security experience is preferred.
• Previous customer-service experience is preferred.
• A valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record are preferred.

• American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification within 14 days of placement.
• Oregon DPSST temporary or current Unarmed Professional certification within 14 days of placement.
• Full DPSST Unarmed Professional certification within 120 days.
• Legacy-approved de-escalation training within 120 days.
