Position: Rip City Event Security Agent Job in Portland

Job Description

Rip City Management is hiring a part-time Event Security Agent to help maintain safety and security throughout the Rose Quarter during games, concerts, and other events. This position primarily monitors backstage, event-level, and other restricted areas. The agent will provide access control, identify safety concerns, respond to emergencies, document incidents, and professionally de-escalate challenging situations.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Verify credentials for employees, vendors, clients, and authorized visitors.
  • Monitor backstage, event-level, and restricted areas.
  • Prevent unauthorized access.
  • Maintain a visible and approachable security presence.
  • Identify hazards and potential security concerns.
  • De-escalate conflicts and guest complaints.
  • Respond to disturbances, accidents, medical emergencies, alarms, and threats.
  • Assist with emergency evacuations when required.
  • Complete incident logs and written reports.
  • Communicate concerns to security supervisors and management.
  • Inspect assigned equipment and venue areas before and after events.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in sensitive areas.
Qualifications
  • Hold or be able to obtain an Oregon Event and Entertainment Private Security certification.
  • Have experience in security, law enforcement, customer service, or a related field.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally.
  • Remain calm during emergencies and stressful situations.
  • Write clear and accurate incident reports.
  • Work independently and as part of a security team.
  • Be available for evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays.
  • Be able to stand or walk for approximately 75% of a shift.
  • Be physically capable of patrolling the venue and safely moving necessary objects.
  • Successfully complete a background check.
