Overview
An experienced Stone Mason is needed to join a leading property restoration specialist company based in Park Royal, London. The role purpose is to read and interpret blueprints, collaborate with our operatives, cut or shape stones, and fix stones according to the structural plans. The role will also undertake fixing, repairing and pointing of natural stone and support other stone masonry tasks as required by Thomann-Hanry.
Salary – £55,000 – £60,000 per annum

Our client, Thomann-Hanry, undertakes works to restore some of the most important and historic buildings in London such as the National Gallery and the Bank of England.
Responsibilities- Read and interpret structural blueprints.
- Determine materials and equipment needed for the project.
- Mix grout and cement.
- Cut and shape stones to desired dimensions.
- Lay stones according to construction plans or project specifications.
- Fix, repair and point natural stone.
- Support other stone masonry tasks as required by projects.
- Work with a team of stone masons to deliver exceptional standards.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in stone masonry.
- NVQ or equivalent in stone masonry.
- Proven experience in restoration works on historic buildings; experience with building cleaning systems and reparation is desirable.
- Experience working within a multi-disciplined team of stone masons.
- Strong understanding of lime mortar and its properties; stone cutting, shaping, and binding tools.
- Physically strong and able to manipulate heavy objects.
- Ability to work outdoors and in noisy areas for extended periods.
- Excellent customer focus and strong attention to detail.
- Portland stone experience and IPAF certification are desirable.
- Previous experience with working at heights outdoors is desirable.
- Experience of working with Portland stone.
- Experience in operating truck mount platforms (category 3a and self-propelled booms category 3b).
- IPAF certification.
Please note that this role will require some night and weekend working.
