Job Description
We are looking for a Security Electronics Technician III who will work remotely, but must be located in Vancouver, WA or Portland, OR. The role requires an active Department of Treasury clearance or the ability to obtain one to be considered. The technician will work closely with our service and engineering teams and directly with clients to install, maintain, and repair integrated electronic security systems, including Video Surveillance Systems (VSS), Access Control Systems (ACS) and Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS).
Compensation& Benefits
Estimated hourly rate: $37.00 – $40.00, plus commensurate pay based on experience.

Responsibilities- Plan, procure, install, and perform daily on‑site maintenance, upgrades, replacements, and preventive maintenance of all systems, including annual IDS testing.
- Capture inventory of all electronic security equipment and update records with changes.
- Provide technical assistance to team members and act as the technical expert for customers to solve problems or provide guidance.
- Conduct electrical troubleshooting, device testing, component installation, surveillance camera installation, and software monitoring system support.
- Use layout sheets, building plans, floor plans, circuit schematics, and manufacturer’s guidance for installations.
- Document, schedule, and close work orders with detailed descriptions of work completed.
- Handle occasional overtime as required.
- Create work orders based on customer requests via email, phone, or text; submit reports to the PM weekly and monthly documentation to the PM by the 1st of the following month; complete expense reports weekly as needed.
- Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in government or commercial installations (preferred).
- Proficiency in circuitry, electronics basics, wiring, fiber optic cabling, VSS, ACS, IDS, CAT6 cable runs, and troubleshooting.
- Experience installing, maintaining, upgrading, and supporting ACS, IDS, and VSS hardware/software.
- Experience configuring equipment for centralized monitoring systems such as Identiv, Honeywell, and Bosch.
- Formal training as a low‑voltage electrician is a plus.
- Formal training in basic electronics and circuitry (technical school or vendor certifications).
- Skilled with test equipment: digital multimeters, toner tracer, lineman handset, and video test monitor.
- Certification as an installer for Identiv/Hirsch, Software House, Bosch, Honeywell, and Exacq.
- Ability to lift or move items up to 25 lbs.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable record.
- Must obtain at least a Department of Treasury clearance.
- GED required.
- Mandatory VSS, ACS, and IDS experience.
- Must pass pre‑employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
