Cable Technician

A Logistics company in North Portland is hiring 1 Cable Technician and 2 Cable Pullers for a 6 week project!

Job Duties Cable Technician:

+ Install, terminate, and test copper (Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6a) and fiber optic cabling

+ Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and cable run documentation

+ Perform cable terminations (RJ45, patch panels, fiber connectors)

+ Test and troubleshoot network cabling using certification tools (Fluke, etc.)

+ Install racks, patch panels, cable management systems

+ Ensure installations meet industry standards (TIA/EIA, BICSI)

Job Duties Cable Puller:

+ Pull, route, and secure low-voltage cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optic, etc.)

+ Assist in installing cable pathways including tray, conduit, and raceways

+ Label and organize cables according to design specifications

+ Support cable termination (basic assistance role)

+ Use hand and power tools safely and efficiently

Qualifications Cable Technician:

+ 2-5+ years of low-voltage or structured cabling experience

+ Experience terminating and testing copper and/or fiber cabling

+ Ability to read and interpret technical drawings

+ Strong troubleshooting skills

+

Experience with industry testing equipment

Qualifications Cable Puller:

+ 0-2+ years of experience in cabling, construction, or similar hands-on environment

+ Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on ladders or lifts

+ Comfortable in physically demanding environments (ceilings, crawl spaces, etc.)

+ Strong work ethic and reliability

+ Basic understanding of tools and job site safety

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00/hr.
