Position: Maintenance Technician, Multifamily (Floating)

Maintenance Technician, Multifamily (Floating)

The Maintenance Technician provides support and is accountable for delivering on our commitments to our residents. This includes quality move‑ins, residential satisfaction, expedited service, and personal attention to residents. The Technician responds to residents’ service needs and helps deliver superior customer service.

Responsibilities
  • Prepares make‑ready apartments (painting, carpet repairs, cleaning, general repairs, housekeeping, and other necessary tasks) to provide a quality move‑in experience.
  • Responds to resident requests in a timely manner with a professional attitude.
  • Performs maintenance functions such as plumbing, HVAC, basic electrical, general carpentry, painting, and snow removal (if applicable).
  • Maintains grounds, pools/hot tubs, common areas, and dog park amenities to keep them clean, operational, and safe.
  • On‑call scheduling may be required to respond to after‑hour emergencies.
  • Reports maintenance concerns on vacant units, models, and common areas to the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Performs maintenance as scheduled by the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Attends and participates in training programs as required by Cushman & Wakefield.
  • Delivers superior customer service and represents the company professionally at all times.
  • Maintains all safety procedures and safeguards company tools and equipment.
  • Achieves high productivity through reliable, punctual on‑site attendance and reports any tardiness or attendance issues to the immediate supervisor.
  • Performs any other related duties as required or assigned.
Competencies
  • Valid driver’s license; EPA
    608 – Minimum TypeII and CPO or local city required certificate.
  • Ability to read and understand documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
  • Ability to compute rates, ratios, percentages and prepare and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to solve problems involving known variables in routine situations.
  • Ability to utilize common sense to carry out written, oral or diagrammed instructions.
  • Basic arithmetic skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide) in all units of measure.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Follow all safety procedures.
Education

High School Diploma, GED, Trade, Technical, or Vocational school.

Experience

1+ years of related experience.

Work Environment

The role operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. The employee is required to travel between properties in varying weather conditions.

Physical Demands

Standing and walking for extended periods, ascending and descending stairs, ladders, and/or step stools. May remain stationary (sit or stand) 85% of the time. Required to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects weighing up to 100pounds occasionally, frequently, or constantly. Travel up to 10% of the time.
