Ultra Care Technician 1.5

Entry‑level service technician responsible for performing routine, scheduled maintenance on industrial batteries and basic shop repair level 1 duties. Supports Field Service technicians as a general assistance role as needed. Focuses on safe and accurate execution of basic service tasks, adherence to all regulatory and company safety standards, and development of foundational technical, safety, and customer service skills. Work is performed under general supervision with increasing independence as competency is demonstrated.

Responsibilities
  • Represents the company in a professional manner in accordance with company standards.
  • Performs routine battery maintenance including inspections, watering, cleaning, voltage checks, and basic diagnostics.
  • Executes scheduled service routes safely, efficiently, and on time.
  • Records cell voltages, specific‑gravity readings, and other required service data accurately.
  • Performs battery washing and basic pressure‑washing procedures in accordance with safety and environmental guidelines.
  • Operates vehicles, forklifts, and reach trucks safely, as needed.
  • Completes work orders, service documentation, and parts‑usage tracking accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Communicates effectively with customers and internal teams, escalating issues appropriately.
  • Identifies basic operational or safety issues and reports/escalates them to the proper personnel.
  • Maintains assigned tools, equipment, and parts inventory in an organized and responsible manner.
  • Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with customers.
  • Supports the promotion of company products and services when appropriate.
  • Accompanies Field Technicians levels 1, 2, & 3 on service call‑outs, scheduled service installs, and tasks that require additional assistance.
  • Loads and unloads trucks safely, and maintains all transportation paperwork.
  • Maintains the workstation, tools, and equipment to meet safety requirements.
  • Performs daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning assignments throughout the warehouse.
  • Prepares new products for shipment to customers, including pulling the product, installing basic parts, packaging accessories, completing quality‑control inspections, and prepping for outbound shipping.
  • Completes all company policies and procedures, including safety, environmental, warranty, and operational standards.
  • Ensures all assigned tasks are completed according to defined procedures and checklists.
  • Follows all OSHA, EPA, hazmat, and company safety procedures, including spill containment and non‑potable water handling.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications and Skills
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, technical manuals, and work procedures.
  • Ability to follow written, verbal, diagrammatic, and scheduled instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to complete repetitive tasks accurately.
  • Basic troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills with appropriate escalation when needed.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Reliable, self‑motivated, and able to work independently within defined procedures.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, including active listening.
  • Basic proficiency with mobile communication tools (cell phone, tablet, laptop).
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook) preferred.
Required Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid, clean driver's license (MVR check required in applicable state).
  • 0–2 years of experience in battery service, field service, or related technical/mechanical work preferred.
  • Prior experience in customer service or field operations is strongly preferred.
  • Basic understanding of electricity/electronics preferred; training provided.

Pay: $26/hr
