Equipment Maintenance Technician | Portland, OR | Direct Placement/Full Time | Semiconductor | $28-38/hr | Day and night shift available, 12 hour shifts on Pitman schedule

About the Opportunity:

An Equipment Maintenance Technician is responsible for learning process and troubleshooting theory on assigned systems, providing installation support, diagnosis, repair and preventive maintenance for manufacturing equipment and associated process supply systems. Through proper maintenance the technician helps improve overall effectiveness of equipment and to meet the Business Unit goals. The role requires knowledge in mechanical, electrical, electronic, control systems, pneumatics, vacuum technology and SPC.

Responsibilities:
  • Utilize technical skills to install, modify, assemble and maintain equipment and associated process supply systems.
  • Accomplish tasks by effectively connecting, routing and assembling internal/external systems & components, including gearboxes, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, electronic, programmable logic controls and chemical equipment.
  • Analyze equipment or system to determine malfunction and decide on proper repair action; complete repairs by removing, repairing and replacing all necessary components.
  • Discuss findings with area operators, leadership, engineers and other technicians to find immediate and long-term solutions.
  • Maintain all records of repairs, calibrations, tests, preventative maintenance, spare parts and procedures.
  • Achieve certification of basic proficiency for equipment in assigned areas of responsibility and continuously improve knowledge and skills.
  • Demonstrate effective housekeeping in the area of work and shop and observe all safety rules and regulations.
  • Acquire and maintain the necessary State/Federal licenses/certificates as needed for certain job tasks.
  • Participate in and complete training as prescribed by corporate requirements and immediate leadership.
  • Assist in the analysis and frequently work independently in repair and preventive maintenance.
  • Occasionally work in hazardous areas involving potentially dangerous electrical power, chemicals and stored energy.
  • Understand workplace hazards, including hazardous waste handling and awareness, and remain up to date on applicable trainings.
Qualifications:

2+ years as a Maintenance Technician in the semiconductor industry OR 8+ years as a Maintenance Technician in any other industry.
