Daikin Applied is seeking a HVAC Technician Helper/Tradesman to assist in diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on commercial and industrial HVAC equipment.
Location:
Portland, OR – Onsite.
- Assist in the maintenance of commercial HVAC equipment including logging machines, cleaning coils, brushing tubes, replacing filters, replacing belts and proper lubrication.
- Assist with repair and replacement of defective equipment, components, or wiring related to fan coils, water source heat pumps, applied air handling units, rooftop units, cooling towers, and condenser tubes.
- Assist with rebuilds of HVAC & applied equipment.
- Receive detailed direction while sharing the hands‑on task responsibilities with Technicians II, III, and Lead.
- Demonstrate professionalism in appearance, verbal, and written communication.
- Interact with customers by providing status reports of service before, during, and after each call.
- Perform basic data entry and navigate computer or smartphone for email, internet, Microsoft applications, and other tools as required.
- Wear company uniform and required safety PPE, perform job hazard analysis.
- Ensure standards, policies, procedures, and maintenance of a clean work area are always upheld.
- Follow all OSHA and Daikin Applied safety policies and procedures.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Required license(s) and/or training card as required by local law/district.
- Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
- Commercial HVAC Industry Experience.
- Associate's degree or equivalent from two‑year college or technical school, with a certificate in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning or currently enrolled in such a program.
- EPA approved Universal Technician Certification.
- Current first aid / CPR card.

The expected hourly rate for this position is $22/hr in OR. The rate is subject to the amount outlined in the CBA and could change based on the level offered.
