Under close supervision, this position is responsible for performing basic maintenance, service, and repair of J.B. Hunt tractors and other equipment. Technicians must complete all fleet maintenance processes and ensure units meet J.B. Hunt specifications at all times. The role may involve working outdoors, in the elements, and across multiple shifts including nights and weekends with overtime; full‑time attendance is required.

• Demonstrate foundational technical knowledge of preventative maintenance, part replacement, and basic repairs for tractor systems (fuel, battery, engine, drive train, onboard computer, transmission, air brake systems, FHWA inspections).
• Work independently and seek assistance as needed.
• Follow all shop safety procedures.
• Maintain professional communication with J.B. Hunt personnel and customers.
• Accurately perform repairs to company and manufacturer specifications, complete work orders, and meet standard repair times (SRT) and warranty guidelines.

Shifts may vary based on location and business needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum 18 years of age.
• 1 year of experience in semi‑tractor maintenance and repair, or equivalent training/military experience.
• Willingness to work outdoors, in the elements, and/or across multiple shifts, including nights and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of experience with DOT inspections, FHWA inspections, and air brakes.
• Effective written and verbal communication.
• Physical ability to lift or move items up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to multitask and read documents in English.
• Wear appropriate protective gear/PPE.
• Independent work and teamwork ability.
• Basic active listening, computer skill, deductive reasoning, organizational skills, time management, and self‑motivation.
