Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
The Maintenance Electrician II will support the Portland, OR Certainteed production line, manufacturer of asphalt roofing shingles. This position ensures that production equipment, mechanical systems, and plant infrastructure are properly maintained, operated, and repaired in alignment with company safety standards, quality expectations, and operational performance goals.
Responsibilities Include:- Performing preventative maintenance, plus lubrication on the production line-
- Read and interpret blueprint and layout drawings-
- Understand basic pneumatic and hydraulic systems and theory- - -
- Using applicable CMMS systems for scheduling /completing work orders (SAP)-
- Basic welding skills--
- Adaptability, customer focus, and good verbal and written communication-
- Uses PLC ladder logic and control schematics to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve equipment and control system issues--
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical problems, including low voltage control circuits as well as high voltage line circuits--
- Performs installation, programming, commissioning, and maintenance of AC and DC motor drives, utilizing a strong understanding of motor and drive theory-
- Other plant maintenance responsibilities as needed-
Schedule:
Must be able to work any of the three standard shifts. Initial shift assignments are based on operational needs and current openings for training period.

1st shift: 6am- - 2pm-
2nd Shift: 2pm- - 10pm-
3rd Shift: 10pm- - 6am-

Assignment to a specific shift after training is not guaranteed and will be made in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

Requirements:- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic computer skills
- Previous Maintenance Mechanic Experience
- Oregon Limited Maintenance Electrician (LME) License and/or Journeyman Maintenance Millwright Certification
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 40lbs without assistance.
- Ability to work from various squatting, kneeling or bending positions.
- Ability to climb ladders up to 60 feet.
- Ability to work with arms above head.

Certain states require pay information to be provided in job postings. The base pay offered for this position starts at $41.95 and may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.
In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is a percentage of base salary based on company and individual performance measures.
