Job Summary
We are hiring a Door Technician Trainee for a direct hire opportunity in Portland, OR. This entry-level role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, solving mechanical problems, working with customers, and building a career in residential and commercial garage door service.
No previous garage door experience is required. Paid training is provided, making this a strong opportunity for candidates coming from home services, maintenance, HVAC, pest control, field service, customer service, or other technician-focused backgrounds. You will learn how to diagnose garage door issues, provide repair and replacement recommendations, complete service work, and grow into a high-earning field technician role.

After training, technicians receive a company vehicle, gas card, and cell phone. The team environment is focused on professionalism, customer service, consultative communication, and helping motivated trainees build long-term success.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose garage door service issues and recommend appropriate repair or replacement solutions.
- Provide professional in-home and on-site service for residential and commercial customers.
- Educate customers on available options, prepare estimates, and present service recommendations.
- Perform hands-on repair, maintenance, and installation-related work after completing training.
- Manage daily service calls independently while maintaining clear customer communication.
- Identify upsell opportunities and close service sales through consultative, customer-focused conversations.
- Direct hire opportunity.
- Salary range: $38,000.00 to $48,000.00 per year.
- Portland, OR training pay: $23.00 per hour for up to 8 weeks.
- After training: $18.75 per hour plus commission.
- Average earning potential after training: $80,000 to $140,000 per year based on performance.
- Paid training provided.
- Required training trip to Orange County, CA.
- After training, technicians receive a company vehicle, gas card, and cell phone.
