Role Description The BMS Installer is a full-time, on-site position based in Portland, OR and is responsible for installing, terminating, and testing low-voltage cabling and devices for BMS and EPMS projects, following strict safety and quality standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include reading and interpreting drawings, hand-bending and installing EMT conduit, pulling and labeling cables, building/maintaining pathways and assisting with troubleshooting and repairs.
The technician collaborates with project managers, electricians, and other team members to meet project schedules and maintain clean, organized work areas. The role also involves communicating professionally with site personnel, documenting work performed, and adhering to all local codes and company policies.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess customer service skills to interact professionally with clients, contractors, and building personnel.
- This role requires either a "Limited Energy Technician" or "General Journeyman" electrical license with the state of OR. A Washington state "EL-06" electrical license is also beneficial.
- Experience in commercial construction, building automation, or electrical/low-voltage installation is strongly preferred.
- Ability to read technical drawings and schematics, use hand and power tools safely, and work at heights or in confined spaces as needed.
- Reliable transportation to job sites in the Portland, OR area and ability to meet schedule and attendance expectations.
- Commitment to safe work practices, attention to detail, and teamwork in a fast-paced project environment.
