Position Summary

The Level 2 Installer is an experienced furniture installer responsible for installing contract furniture systems according to manufacturer specifications, installation drawings, and company quality standards. This role performs installation tasks with minimal supervision and supports the Foreman and Level 3 Installer in coordinating work activities on the jobsite.

Level 2 Installers demonstrate strong knowledge of furniture systems installation and can complete most installation tasks independently while supporting junior installers and labor personnel as needed. Participates in regular 1-on-1 with manager.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities1) Furniture Installation

Install contract furniture systems including:

  • Panel systems and workstations
  • Benching and desking systems
  • Case goods and freestanding furniture
  • Seating and accessories
  • Storage systems and filing components

Follow installation drawings, layouts, and manufacturer instructions.

Ensure proper:

  • Alignment
  • Leveling
  • Fit and finish
  • Functionality of all installed products
2) Jobsite Support

Assist the Foreman and Level 3 Installer with daily jobsite activities including:

  • Staging materials for installation
  • Preparing work areas
  • Maintaining installation workflow
  • Supporting labor personnel assigned to the project
  • Help maintain productivity and jobsite efficiency.
3) Quality & Installation Standards

Maintain company installation standards by:

  • Reviewing drawings and layouts before installation
  • Identifying installation challenges early
  • Correcting installation issues when they arise
  • Reporting product damage, shortages, or discrepancies
  • Assist with punch list items and project closeout.
4) Safety & Jobsite Compliance

Follow all company and job site safety requirements including:

  • Proper PPE usage
  • Safe material handling
  • Maintaining clean and organized work areas
  • Following general contractor and client safety rules
  • Report unsafe conditions to the Foreman or jobsite leadership.
5) Team Collaboration

Work collaboratively with installation crews and other trades on the jobsite.

Assist Level 1 Installers by:

  • Demonstrating installation techniques
  • Providing basic guidance on systems and tools
  • Supporting team productivity
Qualifications

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

  • Strong knowledge of furniture installation practices
  • Ability to read and interpret installation drawings
  • Ability to install most furniture systems with limited supervision
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Attention to detail and quality workmanship
  • Ability to troubleshoot common installation issues
Education / Experience Education

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience
  • 1–3 years of commercial furniture installation experience preferred
  • Experience installing panel systems or modular furniture preferred
Language Skills
  • Ability to read, comprehend, write and communicate in English
  • Follow simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
  • Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to customers and other employees
Work Environment &

Physical Requirements
  • Work performed primarily on commercial jobsites
  • Frequent lifting of furniture components (up to 75 lbs with assistance)
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work with tools for extended periods
  • Use of installation tools and equipment required
  • Travel to jobsites within the service region required
  • Some early mornings, extended hours, or weekend work based on project schedules
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, maintain a clean driving record and meet all eligibility requirements to drive a company vehicle
  • Ability to pass a drug screen and criminal background check
