Appliance Technician Assistant

Portland Installation, Inc. is seeking an Appliance Technician Assistant to support our onsite appliance installation and service work in Portland, OR.

As an Appliance Technician Assistant, you will assist technicians with appliance installation, troubleshooting, and routine service tasks while maintaining a safe and professional work environment. This role is ideal for someone who is hands-on, dependable, and eager to learn the fundamentals of appliance systems and field service operations.

You will work alongside experienced technicians to prepare job sites, complete assigned tasks, and ensure installations are performed correctly and efficiently. You’ll also help maintain tools and equipment to support quality workmanship and customer satisfaction. Vertical pay raises for the motivated individual.

• Assist with onsite appliance installation setup, positioning, connections, and basic configuration under technician guidance

• Support troubleshooting by performing assigned checks and documenting observations for the lead technician

• Prepare job sites by gathering parts, tools, and materials; ensuring the work area is organized and safe

• Follow established safety procedures and proper handling practices for appliances, tools, and job materials

• Help maintain equipment and service readiness, including basic tool care and restocking as needed

• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn appliance installation and service procedures

• Ability to follow instructions, safety protocols, and established job processes

• Comfortable working in a hands-on environment, including lifting and moving appliances as required

• Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic with attention to detail

• Clear communication skills and a professional, customer-focused attitude onsite

• Prior experience assisting with appliance repair, installation, or related field service work

• Basic understanding of appliance components and common installation requirements

• Familiarity with safe tool use and basic maintenance of service equipment

• Experience working in a team environment with a focus on quality and timeliness

Hourly rate: $22
