$36.25 - $46.60 / hour, depending on experience

Shaver Transportation is looking for a skilled Marine Electrician to keep our fleet of tugs, barges, and shoreside facilities running. You'll troubleshoot, repair, and help design the electrical systems that our crews depend on every day - working hands-on with generators, switchboards, and vessel controls, and playing a direct role in the reliability and safety of our operations.

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair generators, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, distribution panels, and alarm/lighting circuits across the fleet
• Wire and connect electrical systems, testing your work with ohmmeters, voltmeters, and other diagnostic equipment
• Read schematics and manufacturer specs to plan repairs, upgrades, and new installations
• Help build and refine preventive maintenance programs for electrical systems and facilities

• 5+ years of relevant marine industry electrical experience, or comparable work, preferred
• Advanced knowledge of AC/DC electrical theory and marine grounding practices
• Working familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and marine electrical code requirements
• Able to pass a Company-administered drug and alcohol screening and post-offer background check, consistent with Oregon and City of Portland fair-chance hiring rules
• Valid driver's license, and able to obtain and maintain a TWIC card
• Comfortable working in tight vessel spaces and all weather conditions, and able to lift 50+ lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation

As our Marine Electrician, you'll work directly with our Port Engineer and VP of Engineering on a fleet with real history and real variety - no two days (or two vessels) are exactly alike.
