The Group Facilitator position participates as part of the Infant & Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation team to provide specialized services to children ages 0 to 5 and their families. This role supports facilitation of parent education groups, which may be delivered virtually or in‑person (in the greater Portland area).
Duties and Responsibilities- Provide mental health prevention services to parents/caregivers of children ages 0‑5 using specific Parent Education curriculums as well as understanding of infant and early childhood mental health and development.
- Parent group recruitment and facilitation for groups as assigned.
- Support delivery of Parent Education services including facilitation, planning, mid‑week contact with families, deliveries to home/community and other duties as applicable.
- Supports data collection processes per agency and funder requirements of Parent Education offerings.
- Maintain agency prevention chart records in accordance with agency requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality when gathering, documenting, consulting, or consolidating information necessary for prevention services. Secure a release of information from the legal guardian prior to disclosure of information outside Morrison.
- Demonstrate a commitment to developing a thorough knowledge and application of the Sanctuary model and other organizational policies & practices.
- Participate in staff development, in‑services, and training related to workplace effectiveness; model professional behaviors and implement improvements to business practices with awareness of their impact in a trauma‑informed behavioral healthcare organization.
- Completes Incredible Years© Parent Group Leader, Circle of Security Parenting, and Early Childhood Positive Behavioral Intervention & Supports (EC‑PBIS) trainings as needed and maintains continuing education and professional development pertaining to these models.
- Ability to work independently and seek supervision as needed or required.
- Demonstrate the ability to regularly attend and be punctual for scheduled work commitments, meetings and be in a condition suitable for assuming responsibilities of position.
- Demonstrated ability to work with populations in a variety of environments, particularly early childhood care and education settings.
- Experience with virtual service delivery and ability to learn quickly and/or able to navigate Microsoft platforms (Outlook, Teams, Excel etc.)
- Master’s degree in social service or related studies required.
- Knowledge of the developmental needs of children, birth to five years old.
- Bi‑lingual in Spanish and English, written, read and verbal. Must clear a language proficiency test.
- Minimum of 2 years direct experience in a mental health setting providing prevention services and/or mental health therapy to children and their families.
- Trained in The Incredible Years® Parent Group and/or Circle of Security Parenting™ curriculums.
