GENERAL

FUNCTIONS

Program Manager oversees all aspects of the time families spend together at The Family Room, ensuring sessions are safe, organized, educational, therapeutic, and ultimately supportive of positive family interaction and assessment of parental capacity. This role requires someone who can manage a high‑energy environment, de‑escalate conflict, maintain consistent boundaries, and demonstrate strong problem‑solving and multitasking skills.

PROGRAMMATIC DUTIES
  • Facilitate and supervise Family Time (visitation) sessions as scheduled at assigned location. Family Time Program operates from noon‑6pm Mondays and Wednesdays.
  • Schedule volunteers and function as the liaison for all scheduling updates and changes
  • Receive and review referrals to the program
  • Coordinate with parents, resource (foster) parents, and child welfare caseworkers to establish a weekly schedule for family time (visits)
  • Coordinate ongoing transportation for each child
  • Oversee meal preparation and execution
  • Build trauma‑informed relationships with each parent and child
  • Provide professional education, guidance, and feedback to parents as needed
  • Take regular and ongoing inventory of program supplies and restock as necessary
  • Provide weekly visitation summaries to each family’s ODHS caseworker within 5 business days
  • Write Quarterly Program Summary and Parental Assessments to distribute to legal parties and parents.
  • Attend family court hearings and Child Welfare case related meetings as schedule permits
  • Advocate for individual families and provide outside support for families on a case‑by‑case basis, as approved by Executive Director
  • Attend trainings as requested
QUALIFICATIONS

The following are minimum qualifications for the Program Manager:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a social services related field, BSW/MSW preferred
  • Two-years experience in direct client services with a relevant client population
  • Clinical parental capacity assessment skills
  • Professional writing and reporting skills
  • De-escalation and conflict resolution skills
  • Proficiency in Gmail, Google Docs/Sheets, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel

Full‑time positions at The Family Room are approximately 35 hours per week and include full‑time salary and benefits. Hours include each site’s hours of operation (Mondays and Wednesdays noon‑6pm). Occasional evening and weekend events (2‑3 annually) are required. This role is onsite in the office and at program location Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays.

The Program Director is directly supervised by the Executive Director and can expect weekly check‑ins. Annual performance reviews will be done by the Executive Director.
