Youth Prevention Coordinator

SEI’s Community & Family Programs (CFP) department advances SEI’s mission to guide underserved youth in realizing their full potential by strengthening the families and households that support them. As direct service providers, our Family Stability Programs focus on stabilizing families, reducing barriers and supporting households to achieve safety, stability and self‑defined goals supported by sustainable income. This work relies on strong partnerships with schools, community organizations, and public systems to improve conditions that impact family well‑being.

The Youth Prevention Coordinator works alongside youth and their caregivers to deliver trauma‑informed, culturally responsive prevention and early intervention services aligned with SEI’s RISE (Restore, Identify, Stabilize, Empower) framework, including group facilitation, direct youth support, brief interventions, and referrals that strengthen family stability and youth empowerment. This position reports to the Family Stability Program Manager.

Direct Youth and Family Services
  • Provide direct services and light‑touch intervention safety plans for youth experiencing domestic, sexual or dating violence.
  • Support families in strengthening their capacity to stabilize and support youth during times of crisis.
  • Make referrals to external community partners, social service agencies, and medical providers as appropriate and follow up to support successful connections.
Prevention Programming and Curriculum Implementation
  • Ensure high quality implementation of approved curricula and prevention models, including TREM and SAFE prevention frameworks.
  • Collaborate with SEI staff and partners to develop, adapt, and deliver prevention programming tailored to youth needs.
  • Facilitate culturally relevant workshops and activities that reflect, affirm, and uplift the lived experiences of African American youth and other historically marginalized communities.
Collaboration and Community Engagement
  • Work collaboratively with schools, SEI SUN sites, SEI Youth Services, and community partners to coordinate services and strengthen program impact.
  • Coordinate with SEI Youth Services and SUN to deliver education and support related to domestic violence, sexual violence, dating violence, stalking, and sex trafficking.
  • Maintain strong, professional relationships with school staff, counselors, coordinators, and community‑based organizations.
Documentation, Compliance, and Confidentiality
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough documentation in compliance with SEI policies, contracts, and funding requirements.
  • Support program evaluation, reporting, and continuous quality improvement efforts.
  • Uphold the highest levels of confidentiality in accordance with advocacy privilege and applicable confidentiality laws and ethical standards.
Other Duties

Accept other appropriate duties/responsibilities as assigned by SEI management.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, psychology, education, public health, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and relevant lived or professional experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience providing direct services to youth and/or families, preferably in school‑based, community‑based, or prevention‑focused settings.
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating youth groups using trauma‑informed, strengths‑based approaches.
  • Knowledge of trauma, adverse childhood experiences, youth development, and prevention strategies for violence, crisis, and instability.
  • Ability to engage and build trust with youth and families from diverse cultural, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Certificate of completion of the 40‑hour Basic Advocacy Training (BAT) (option to complete upon hire).
  • Must have excellent computer skills with specific knowledge of Teams, Outlook, One Note, One Drive, Excel, Word, and other Microsoft
    365 platforms.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, strong organization and self‑motivation abilities, and excellent documentation and record‑keeping skills.
  • Must have valid driver’s license, insurance and own reliable transportation. Must be insurable under SEI’s auto insurance policy.
