Position Summary

Our Homemaking Specialists provide housing stabilization support to help individuals who have recently transitioned into housing.

Compensation / Benefits
  • Full‑time, non‑exempt position with a starting hourly wage of $23‑26, depending on experience

Accountability

Accountable to the Housing & Homemaking Program Manager

Duties / Responsibilities
  • Empower individuals to maintain permanent, independent housing through acquiring income, promoting physical and emotional health, and building community, using a trauma‑informed approach
  • Meeting with clients regularly to offer one‑on‑one support and to create a case plan that fits the needs of the client, meeting with neighbors in their homes when necessary
  • Work alongside neighbors during their enrollment in housing programs, problem‑solve with neighbors as issues arise, and create end‑of‑rental subsidy plans that are meaningful and realistic
  • Work cooperatively with multiple agencies and attend team meetings to connect households to services including workforce training, domestic violence support, and wellness resources
  • Conduct self within appropriate and expected professional boundaries and policies
  • Maintain confidentiality and earn others’ trust and respect through consistent honesty and professionalism in all interactions
  • Ensure prompt case notes, documentation, and data quality within HMIS (Homeless Management Information Systems) and other organizational data and case management systems
  • Represent Cultivate Initiatives to partners, Joint Office of Homeless Services, and the broader community
  • Attend all assigned training, events and community outreach activities, unless otherwise approved
  • May participate in special projects and activities requested by the supervisor
Preferred Qualifications / Skills
  • Previous experience working with HMIS and/or Apricot
  • Previous experience working in retention support, housing navigation, shelter or other similar roles
  • Knowledge of community resources, social services, and benefits administered by the county
Work Conditions and

Physical Requirements
  • Work is performed indoors
  • Ability to work in environments with varying noise levels, from quiet offices to louder, industrial settings
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move objects weighing up to 30 pounds, climb stairs, bend, stoop, and push and pull
  • Work requires the ability to perform repetitive movements of the wrist, hands, or fingers due to continuous use of computer keyboards and other office equipment
  • Work requires the ability to spend two or more hours sitting at a time
  • Being physically present in the CI offices from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday – Friday
  • Must be able to provide proof of COVID‑19 vaccination or religious exemption
  • Must be able to provide proof of valid driver's license
