Nexus Family Healing is seeking a Youth Care Professional for 1st shift to serve as part of our small PRTF program in Portland, Oregon. The facility, located at Walden Crossing (722 NE 162nd Ave, Portland, OR 97320), serves up to six youth aged 10–17 with mental and developmental disabilities involved in the justice system. The setting offers high staff‑to‑youth ratios, 24/7 nursing, recreational, therapeutic, and psychiatric services.

Schedule / Pay / Location- Day (1st) shift – 40 hours:
Wednesday–Saturday, 7:00 am–5:30 pm - Pay Rate: $23.00+ per hour

- Support and reinforce clients’ therapeutic plans during daily activities
- Mentor and supervise residents’ daily activities and behavior according to established guidelines
- Collaborate with team members on implementation of treatment plans and therapeutic services
- Adapt interactions based on individual client phases, privileges, and restrictions
- Ensure resident safety and maintain a positive, respectful, clean therapeutic environment
- Work with families/support networks to promote positive family partnerships and follow engagement protocols
- Plan and participate in off‑campus resident activities, including transportation to home visits, doctor appointments, and recreational events
- Minimum age 21 years
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license
- Desire to work in human services and care for at‑risk youth
- Ability to build strong relationships with diverse individuals or communities
- Willingness to meet cultural needs, considering language, traditions, and values
- Successfully complete a three‑part Nonviolent Crisis Intervention exam and training
- Assist with physical interventions and restraints of clients
- Lift up to 50 lb unassisted, up to 100 lb with assistance
- Stand and walk for extended periods (2–4 hours)
- Twist, bend, and stretch as required for daily activities in a residential treatment facility
