Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Program Representative:

Learns about Youth Villages' programs, improves marketing skills, and keeps abreast of competition

Meets or exceeds census goals in an assigned region

Builds positive relationships while pursuing case referrals through informational meetings, open houses, trade and agency shows, and other community outreach

Establishes relationships with key community providers (including but not limited to: psychologists, psychiatrists, employee assistance agencies, insurance carriers, mental health centers, schools, community groups, juvenile court personnel and juvenile court judges, human service workers and social workers)
Identifies new referral sources and builds relationships with existing referrers

Responds to customer service needs and monitors customer satisfaction

Completes pre-placement assessments for the purpose of securing funding and communicates progress and barriers to the appropriate customers

Identifies key state-level contacts for the purpose of assessing state-wide mental health services and the needs of children and families

Maintains ongoing contact with key referral sources through presentations, meetings, phone calls, emails, mailings, and other outreach

Engages in mass mailing/e-mailing, cold calls, and other efforts to make individuals aware of Youth Villages Manages a large base of diverse referral sources and seeks to understand each referral source's needs to facilitate the referral and assessment process

Performs other duties as assigned

Additional Information:

Schedule is flexible and non-traditional as it is based around the availability of youth and families served.

Applicants must possess a current, valid driver’s license, an automobile for work purposes, and proof of auto insurance.

Community-based staff will be reimbursed for applicable mileage.

Qualifications:

Master’s degree in a social services discipline (preferred)
Bachelor's degree in social services field (required)
Degrees that can be considered include: social work, drug and alcohol education or counseling, psychology, criminal justice, guidance counseling, or marriage and family therapy (others subject to review)

Experience with community-based services (required)
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Excellent written, verbal, and oral skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously

Basic computer knowledge

Ability to maintain a flexible schedule
