Chance Light Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education seeks a School Social Worker to support students with behavioral and learning challenges. In this on-site, school-based role, you will assess social and emotional needs, provide individual and group counseling, and develop evidence-based interventions that promote academic and life success. You will collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and families, contribute to IEP planning, and connect students to community resources.

Responsibilities

  • Provide school-based social work services to children and young adults with behavioral and learning challenges
  • Conduct assessments to identify social, emotional, and environmental needs impacting student success
  • Develop and implement individualized intervention and support plans using evidence-based practices
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, families, and school staff to coordinate services and strategies
  • Facilitate individual and group counseling to build coping, social, and self-regulation skills
  • Advocate for students' needs within the school system and connect families to community resources
  • Monitor progress, maintain accurate documentation, and prepare required reports
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and IEP or 504 planning as appropriate
  • Support crisis intervention and behavioral de-escalation when needed
  • Engage in professional development to stay current with best practices in school social work
