The Bienestar de la Familia (The Wellbeing of the Family) offers culturally responsive and linguistically appropriate services focusing on Multnomah County's growing Latino/a/x Community, as well as serving other diverse groups and the community at large.

We are seeking to fill two (2) full-time, limited-duration Case Manager 2 positions. This is a limited duration appointment, funded for up to 2 years, but it may end at any time.

This position is scheduled as hybrid telework 40 hours/week, Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM with 1 hour lunch. The onsite work location for this position is located at the Baltazar Ortiz Community Center, 6736 NE Killingsworth St. Portland, OR . Hybrid Telework or work schedules may be subject to change in accordance with County Personnel rules or applicable collective bargaining agreement.

All employees must reside in Oregon or Washington; the county cannot support ongoing telework from other locations.

The eligible list created from this recruitment may be used to fill future regular, limited duration, temporary, on-call, full or part-time assignments within the department.

About the Position:
The primary purpose of Bienestar Case Manager 2 Bilingual Spanish is to provide advocacy and resources to low income individuals, families, children accessing rental and housing assistance, economic stability supports, food access, SNAP, WIC, energy assistance, employment services, emotional or counseling support, access to healthcare, clothing, housing furniture, etc. This work is done by a qualified staff who conducts Person Centered and Trauma Informed Intakes-Assessment, to assess the needs, determine eligibility and connect with appropriate resources.

The person in this position will exhibit cultural competence when speaking and interacting with native speakers in the Spanish language.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Intake-Assessment, Eligibility Determination, Action Plan.
  • Payment Process and Record keeping
  • Skill Development and Professionalism

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Ability to promote a culture of respect, inclusiveness, and appreciation of diverse perspectives, backgrounds, and values
  • Knowledge of cultures, customs and social experiences of communities experiencing marginalization and barriers to opportunity
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed practices that actively do not re-traumatize individuals and communities
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of advanced, complex case management
  • Ability to collaborate and build relationships to achieve positive work outcomes
  • Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team
  • Comfort with change

Minimum Qualifications/Transferable Skills*:

  • Ability to promote a culture of respect, inclusiveness, and appreciation of diverse perspectives, backgrounds, and values.
  • Equivalent to the associate's degree AND
  • One (1) to four (4) years of experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties the position. (Equivalency 3-6 years of qualifying training and/or experience).
  • Must have a valid driver license by time of hire
  • Must pass a criminal background check
