Software Developer III – Senior (Hybrid)
Location:
Burlington, Renton, Spokane, Vancouver, Portland, Medford, Salt Lake City, Boise, Lewiston, or Fargo. Candidates must reside within commutable distance or be willing to relocate. This position requires in‑office work for three days per week.
- Program, debug, build, deploy, test, and document applications in both development and production environments.
- Design databases and perform system testing, documentation, and analysis.
- Work independently with minimal direction and manage own workload.
- Communicate effectively with business customers, engineering peers, and technical partners.
- Contribute to Test‑Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior‑Driven Development (BDD) practices.
- Plan and estimate work for development or change assignments.
- Prepare unit test plans, test criteria, and test data; perform testing and document results.
- Apply software security best practices, including OWASP top 10 mitigation.
- Develop RESTful or GraphQL APIs and follow secure design principles.
- Collaborate with teams to improve processes and document procedures.
- Serve as a Champion or steward of a Community of Practice.
- Maintain up‑to‑date documentation for programs, systems, and operations.
- Participate in regular status reporting, one‑on‑one meetings, and time tracking.
- Software Development Engineer III:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in a multi‑platform environment.
- Software Development Engineer IV:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- At least 8 years of relevant experience, including application or database development.
- Senior Software Development Engineer:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- At least 10 years of relevant experience, including application or database development.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable with asynchronous communication tools such as Microsoft Teams or Slack.
- Proficient in asynchronous and remote collaboration.
- Familiar with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools.
- Knowledge of defensive programming and OWASP top 10 vulnerabilities.
- Experience building data pipelines (exchange, cleansing, validation, standardization, search, ranking).
- Ability to lead cross‑functional groups and establish clarity from uncertainty.
- Excellent problem‑solving and proactive anticipation of issues.
- Develop efficient and maintainable program code and system solutions.
- Provide consulting support to engineering and business partners by researching and resolving programming problems.
- Actively participate in the company’s learning environment and professional development.
- Prepare and manage unit test plans, criteria, and test data.
- Contribute to deliverables required by approved Software Development Life cycles.
- Own one or more Communities of Practice and serve as an ambassador across teams.
- Identify process improvements and document workflows according to industry best practices.
- Possibly perform on‑call duties as directed.

- Full salary range: $104,000 – $208,000
