Position: Staff Software Engineer - Java

As a Staff Software Engineer on the Health Plan Applications and Services team, this role is responsible for developing the services that power the member‑facing experience, ensuring existing systems remain robust while architecting the next generation of care guidance tools.

The position offers the opportunity to write a significant amount of code, build deep expertise in system design, solve complex technical challenges, and provide technical leadership and mentorship across the engineering organization. This role works primarily within a backend technology stack that includes Java, AWS, and Open Search
. Collaboration with engineers and cross‑functional partners across Product, Frontend Engineering, and Implementation is essential to delivering a seamless, high‑performing user experience. Success in this position requires the ability to balance maintaining and optimizing established infrastructure with designing and building new services. The existing platform demands a disciplined, pragmatic approach to ensure reliability and performance while driving innovation through the development of next‑generation healthcare solutions.
