Are you motivated to give back to communities and to provide programs and services that positively impact youth, teens, adults, and multi-generational families? USTA PNW is looking for Site Directors and Instructors to help drive our mission on and off the court. This position reports to the Regional Manager of Recreational Tennis for the designated area.
This position is PART-TIME and SEASONAL. Site Directors must be over 18 years of age before program start date. Instructors can be a minor (17 years of age or younger) and we encourage minors to apply. Minors should use this application to be considered.
Established in 1904, the United States Tennis Association Pacific Northwest (USTA PNW) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization working to promote and develop the growth of tennis by providing access for all. As one of the 17 sections of the USTA, the national governing body of the sport of tennis, USTA PNW serves over 25,000 individual adult and junior members, 200+ tennis facilities, and provides low-cost Rec Tennis after school and summer programs to 40,000 participants.

MAJOR DUTIES
- Create a welcoming, safe, and fun learning environment for all participants.
- Communicate professionally with parents, partners, and community organizers.
- Communicate prompt with Regional Manager as issues arise including, but not limited to; participant safety, extreme weather conditions, staff shortages, etc.
- Implement and understand the program curriculum and provide on-going instruction and expertise at program sites.
- Lead and direct participants activities and (transitions) assigned by the Site Director.
- Ensure equipment set-up and take down for each session. Ensure that all equipment is in safe condition to use. Storing or the transport of equipment may be necessary depending on location working.
- Check attendance roll for each session and check-out with parent sign-off for conclusion of each session.
- Stay at site until all participants have been picked up by authorized personnel.
- Perform marketing tasks as needed which include, but are not limited to, hanging flyers, working at marketing events, etc.
- Follow and implement all USTA PNW procedures and protocols at all times.
- Must understand and comply with the Safe Play code at all times.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
SITE DIRECTOR SPECIFIC DUTIES
- Communicates with the Regional Manager of Recreational Tennis on how to handle the conditions that may delay or cancel a day of camp.
- It is crucial for the Site Directors to work closely with their managers to create the best plan of action on those days when plans are derailed due to weather conditions (rain, lightning, smoke, high winds, etc.).
- Site Director may be asked to transport equipment in their personal vehicles if there is no secure on-site location for storage at the site.
- The Site Director will lead the day to day flow and direct Instructors.
- Site Directors must be 18 years of age or older.
ON-COURT VS. OFF-COURT
- 90% On-Court
- 10% Off-Court (preparing daily lesson plans and activities, setting up for day and cleaning up after camp)
- Subject to change with business needs.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Site Directors support and partner with Instructors, and will lead and direct participant activities and the general flow of the day.
- Instructors have no supervisory responsibilities in regards to other staff.
