Summary Description
The Head Women’s Basketball Coach is a part-time position reporting to the Director of Athletics and is responsible for program administration with a strong focus on recruitment and training. This position requires organizational, spiritual, relational and athletic leadership and compliance to University policy as well as the Conference, Region, and National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) rules and regulations.
Essential Functions- Demonstrates commitment to a Christian liberal arts education by upholding the mission of the University and abiding by the Employment Standards and Lifestyle Agreement.
- Develops, implements, and administers a recruitment plan for student athletes.
- Responsible for retention of student athletes.
- Organizes and conducts practice sessions.
- Coordinates game, practice, and team travel schedules with Director of Athletics.
- Responsible for travel reservations of vehicles, lodging, and food service.
- Strong interpersonal skills; demonstrates good sportsmanship and self-control.
- Upholds Cascade Collegiate Conference and NAIA rules in a framework of good ethical conduct; follows team/department disciplinary policies.
- Responsible for working with Assistant Athletic Director on game management issues.
- Purchases and records team equipment and supplies.
- Responsible for inventory of University-owned equipment and uniforms.
- Works with Sports Information Director for media releases and recommends athletic awards.
- Works with Director of Athletics on eligibility and compliance issues.
- Responsible for reporting possible NAIA violations directly to the Athletic Director.
- Works closely with Athletic Training office for the ongoing care of student‑athletes.
- Monitors the academic progress of the student‑athlete.
- Follows departmental and university policies in regard to budget administration, expenditures, and fund raising.
- Participate in Warner Pacific University professional development opportunities when appropriate.

- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor degree required;
Master degree preferred. - Five years of coaching experience required preferably at the collegiate level.
- Demonstrated communication skills.
- Ability to travel 50-75% during the season.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity.
- Ability to multi-task with accuracy and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively solve problems and initiate/implement projects independently.
- Experience working with diverse populations.
