As a Heavy‑Duty Wrecker & Lowboy Driver, you will be responsible for:
  • Recovery of disabled commercial vehicles
  • Safely and efficiently operating a heavy‑duy wrecker and lowboy in their full capacity
  • Transport of non‑running concept, prototype vehicles and show quality vehicles and ensuring the vehicle appearance meets customer expectations
  • Loading and unloading of lowboy trailers with oversized or heavy loads and specialty vehicles
  • Complying with all Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations
  • Observing all posted traffic signs and drive safely with flow of traffic
  • Complying with all applicable local traffic laws
  • Following any procedures or work instructions provided for assigned projects
  • Assisting engineering in testing concept and prototype components
To be considered as a Heavy‑Duty Wrecker and Lowboy Driver, you will need:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent education
  • A valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL

    A) and have an excellent driving record with the ability to pass our MVR standards
  • To be able to pass a DOT physical examination, DOT drug screen and criminal background check
  • Minimum 3 years of experience driving a heavy‑duy wrecker and lowboy including hauling heavy and oversized loads in the mountains and inclement weather conditions (rain / snow / ice) safely
  • Extensive knowledge of vehicle weight displacement, limitations, and capabilities, when operating a heavy‑duy wrecker or lowboy
  • Knowledge of applicable laws related to the operation of the vehicle to ensure all necessary licensing and permitting is in compliance
  • Good sense of direction with the ability to read maps and follow and take driving direction
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 75% for extended periods of time utilizing sleeper cab or hotels
  • Ability to sit and drive for up to 11 hours per shift
  • Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds
