The Sales Center Warehouse Associate/Backup Driver ensures the smooth handling and delivery of our products. This position involves receiving and organizing products, loading and unloading trucks, and making deliveries to customers or job sites as needed. While the primary focus is on warehouse duties, the role also includes occasional driving responsibilities.
Sales Center Warehouse Associate/Backup Driver Responsibilities Order Processing and Fulfillment- Accurately pull, fill, pack, and set up orders for delivery or pickup.
- Assemble customer orders and prepare them for shipping or pickup.
- Organize and prioritize shipments for various carriers and job sites, staging orders for easy loading and verification.
- Assist in shipping and receiving, including unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, and matching purchase orders to sales orders.
- Load trucks safely and ensure products arrive in good condition.
- Prepare parcels for mailing.
- Read and process customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions.
- a forklift and/or pallet jack as needed, as certified.
- Move inventory to designated warehouse spaces and maintain an organized environment.
- Sort and place materials on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequences.
- Mark materials with identifying information.
- Assist in physical inventory counts and maintain inventory accuracy.
- Complete requisition forms to order supplies.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area, following established safety procedures.
- Ensure the warehouse is accessible and safe for employees and customers.
- Perform facilities maintenance duties as needed.
- Sweep, dust, and mop the warehouse.
- Wear proper safety equipment.
- Operate a delivery truck to safely transport non-hazardous materials, ensuring compliance with speed limits and traffic laws.
- Perform pre-trip inspections and report any maintenance issues.
- Check products for damage before loading and ensure goods are properly secured for transportation.
- Assist in loading and unloading delivery vehicles.
- Provide outstanding customer service during delivery and pickup operations, maintaining a positive company image.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, sales staff, coworkers, and customers to coordinate deliveries and pickups.
Job Skills & Experience
- A High School Diploma, GED or equivalent preferred
- Must be 21 years of age
- Possess a valid driver's license
- Safe driving record and history
- Lift 50-75 pounds safely throughout the workday
