HazMat Field Driver​/Technician - CDL A

Position Summary

The Haz Mat Field Driver/Technician will transport various waste streams to designated generator sites safely while operating class A trucks. The role includes operating tractor‑trailer vehicles and a variety of trailer types—roll offs, tankers, van trailers— to pick up bulk and containerized hazardous and non‑hazardous waste. A straight truck may also be driven periodically. Work is Monday through Friday with variable scheduling that may include 3‑4 overnight shifts per week depending on customer locations, routes, and delivery requirements.

Most weekends and holidays are off, with only occasional exceptions for critical business needs.

• Safely operate trucks including roll‑offs, tankers, gravel trains, tractor‑trailers, and box trucks.
• Perform LTL (less than load) pickups.
• Maintain driver documents such as logbooks, quarterly permit books, trip reports, and waste manifests.
• Understand DOT regulations for hazardous waste collection, packaging, and transportation—including accurate placarding, loading securement, HAZMAT load segregation, and labeling.
• Have a clear understanding of state weight limit laws.
• Operate vehicles safely, abiding by all laws and regulations.
• Utilize company technology, including mobile applications and software maintenance, as assigned by leaders.
• Perform DOT/MOT pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections.
• Interact and communicate effectively with customers to ensure satisfaction.
• Assist in maintaining good housekeeping at the facility and on the grounds.
• May function as a technician on lab pack and field service projects.
• Participate in the Site Safety program and required training.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks related to loading and unloading materials.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Must be able to prioritize, remain focused, and handle multiple, diverse responsibilities.

• A valid Class A commercial driver's license with hazardous material and tanker endorsements, or the ability to obtain such endorsements within 90 days of hire, and an MVR that meets company policy standards.
• Ability to pass 40‑hour HAZWOPER training upon hire.
