Tri Met Lift Driver - Portland (Part-Time)

We are seeking an experienced Bus Driver in Portland, OR to join our Tri Met LIFT contract. Paratransit Operators provide door-to-door services for ADA passengers with a focus on safe, professional, and customer-focused transportation.

Starting pay: $25.71 per hour, progressing to $36.26 per hour over 3 years under the union payscale.

• Safety-Focused Operations:
  Follow designated routes and schedules, adhere to safety protocols and traffic regulations.
• Passenger Care:
  Provide exceptional care and assistance to passengers, ensuring smooth boarding, comfortable rides, and timely disembarkation.
• Vehicle Vigilance:
  Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, report maintenance issues, and maintain cleanliness and safety equipment readiness.
• Adherence to Protocols:
  Enforce seat belts, respond to emergencies, and comply with regulatory mandates.
• Operate transit bus or van and transport passengers with disabilities in accordance with policy and laws.
• Provide door-to-door assistance, escorting and assisting passengers with disabilities, including mobility aid management and securing passengers on the vehicle.
• Other duties as required.

• 21 years or older
• Minimum 5 years of driving experience (personal or professional)
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Valid driver’s license issued in Oregon or Washington before training starts
• Ability to work shifts or flexible schedules as needed
• Ability to work assigned shifts including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays
• DOT physical and DOT card requirement throughout employment
• Subject to DOT drug testing; DOT 49 CFR Part 40 compliance on controlled substances

• Work outside in varying temperatures and conditions; 100% of duties outdoors; work alone and in remote locations
• Sit for extended periods; frequently walk long distances; uneven or sloped surfaces
• Push/pull up to 200 pounds; lift up to 50 pounds; occasional bending, kneeling, or crouching
• Operate in heavy traffic; tolerate dust, vehicle fumes, and noise
