Job Summary:

Lead the entire delivery process which includes delivering product(s) to our customers in a safe, timely, and courteous manner. Complete necessary paperwork and supervision of a Delivery Assistant. Perform additional tasks as requested.

Essential Functions:

• Interact in a friendly and positive manner with customers, vendors and employees on a daily basis.
• Drive and operate a 14,000 – 26,000 lb. GVW delivery truck safely and in conformance with all laws.
• Perform truck inspections and turn in Driver vehicle inspection forms (cry sheets) prior to leaving the warehouse daily.
• Load and unload truck with product without any damage.
• Pre-call customers before leaving the warehouse each morning.
• Deliver and perform basic hook‑up of appliances and perform minor assembly of appliance parts to appliances (e.g. legs on washers/dryers, etc.) without any damages to the product or customer’s home.
• Follow all delivery policies and procedures when handling, delivering, installing and removing product.
• Contact Delivery Office Staff when issues arise (e.g., product doesn’t fit, damage to product and discount needed, etc.).
• Contact Delivery Office Staff and customers if there is a change in the delivery time (e.g., running late due to traffic).
• Complete necessary paperwork accurately to process deliveries, C.O.D.’s, waivers, and atta‑boy forms. Submit paperwork daily to Delivery Office Staff.
• Direct Delivery Assistant and oversee entire delivery process to make sure that deliveries are on time and occur in a professional and friendly manner.
• Lift, push, pull, and carry heavy appliances/mattresses/electronics gaining assistance from coworkers and equipment (e.g., shoulder straps, forearm straps, and hand trucks) when necessary without damaging property or people.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Provide evidence of a current driver’s license which must be in good standing and insurable through JBC Limited, LLC. auto insurance underwriter.
• Minimum of six (6) months driving a box truck of at least twenty four (24) feet in size.
• Ability to read and use ‘Thomas Guide’ maps.
• Ability to meet the “Physical Demands” section (see section for details).
• Ability to use basic tools.
• Ability to work positively in a team environment.
• Ability to work a 40-hour week flexible schedule and overtime as needed.
• Must possess a DOT drivers card by first day of employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Provide a Class B CDL license in good standing that is insurable under JBC Limited, LLC. auto insurance underwriter.
• Previous experience delivering appliances, mattresses, and/or electronics.
• Thorough knowledge of the Portland Metro area.

Physical Demands:

• Frequent standing for short periods of time on various surfaces while getting deliveries ready.
• Occasional sitting in the truck while driving to delivery sites is required. Deliveries are scheduled for the drivers to be as close in proximity as possible.
• Workers are frequently changing positions between walking, standing, and sitting.
• Frequent walking short distances up to 150 feet, from the delivery truck to the home for delivery or garage is required. Surfaces vary and can be on inclines or even ground.
• Frequent carrying up to 50 lbs. is required short distances while handling appliances, boxes, hand tools and miscellaneous items. Frequent lifting from 51 – 100 lbs. is also required with 2 people making the delivery. Workers are required to carry 150-300 pound mattresses and other items. Again, there are 2 people who perform this task. Distances vary according to where the delivery is taking place.
  
  There are some tools used to assist in the form of a belt to balance the appliance while maneuvering it to the household.
