Summary

Incumbents have substantial latitude in determining the best methods and procedures to follow to complete assignments. Tasks are broad in nature where considerable independent judgment and discretion are required. Strong initiative is required in resolving problems and making recommendations.

May also be the entry level for the professional career path. Assignments are received in the form of results expected. Possesses broad knowledge of operations and logistics practices. Deals directly with immediate supervisor, co-workers and team members; engages in exchanges of factual information and provides some explanation in a problem solving capacity; interactions with external contacts, if applicable, require exchanging factual information and providing some explanation.

Detailed

Description (Responsibilities)
  • Administers and supports logistics processes such as Returned Material process.
  • Ensures transactions are approved, processed and issues resolved on a timely basis.
  • Understands and completes all paperwork and system updates to ensure integrity of inventory and financial records.
  • Provides ongoing support in resolving process/execution issues with both internal and external customers.
  • Ensures RMA and MDA returns are correct, documented and dispositioned.
  • Works with other functional areas to determine courses of action on materials i.e. Scrap, Rework.
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies
  • Knowledge of warehouse, distribution, inventory control and shipping/receiving practices.
  • Knowledge of personal computers and ability to learn and use applications specific to this area.
  • Basic understanding of internal and external customer requirements.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy and working under tight time deadlines.
  • Ability to evaluate, prioritize, and problem solve tasks which are limited in complexity to ensure their timely and accurate completion.
  • Ability to operate basic hand tools and warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and banders.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of internal customers.
Physical Demands
  • Duties of this position are performed in a manufacturing environment with frequent exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, operating machinery, temperature extremes, hazardous substances, etc.
  • Duties of this position require occasional light physical effort and exertion including prolonged repetitive motion, standing, sitting in a confined work space, climbing, using equipment, handling lightweight materials, etc.
  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
  • Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
  • Duties of this position require occasional heavy manual effort and considerable exertion including lifting objects over 20 pounds, requiring straining, pulling and lifting.
Typical Experience
  • 1 - 3 years of experience in the field or related fields. SAP knowledge preferred but not required. Forklift is not required but would be a plus.
Typical Education
  • 2 or 3 year general technical diploma/degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
