Material Handler, Forklift Operator
Description
Verification and tracking of all material received, shipped, moved including quantity, size, and packaging.
Safely operated equipment as needed, including but not limited to motorized forklift with various attachments (clamp, forks, grabbers).
Ability to receive and maintain equipment certification if applicable.
Read and follow instructions.
Receive materials/supplies to production areas.
Collect finished products, inspect and prepare for shipping.
Communicate with material handlers, transportation carriers, purchasing, and management via phone and or email and schedule deliver/shipping appointments.
Verify all inbound and outbound shipments.
Monitor status of inbound scheduled loads.
Record purchases, maintain databases, perform physical inventory count, reconcile stock count to records, compute figures from records, such as sales orders, production records, or purchase orders to obtain current inventory levels.
Investigate and report reasons for discrepancies.
Other duties, as necessary.
Qualifications- Must have a valid driver’s license and prior forklift experience.
- 2-4 years’ solid working knowledge of warehouse processes and manufacturing required.
- Must be able to work overtime as needed, including Saturdays and holidays.
- Bilingual in Spanish a plus.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and correspondence.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
- Ability to perform complex mathematical calculations.
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook).
- Maintains strict confidentiality and protects privacy of confidential/sensitive information.
- Exceptional time management and organization skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, establish priorities to meet deadlines.
This role will regularly use plant machinery which certification may be required. It routinely works around moving equipment and may need to get on and off equipment, stairs. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Employees are regularly required to stand, walk, use hands/fingers to type, hold, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
The employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds.
