Warehouse Associate – Portland, OR – $19.00–$20.00 per hour
Job SummaryThe Warehouse Associate is responsible for supporting daily warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, inventory management, order fulfillment, and customer service. This role works in a fast‑paced industrial warehouse and pipe yard environment, handling large, heavy, and oversized materials both indoors and outdoors. The ideal candidate is safety‑focused, eager to learn, and enjoys working as part of a team while providing excellent service to both internal and external customers.
Job Responsibilities- Pull, stage, and prepare customer orders for shipment.
- Receive, inspect, verify, and stock incoming materials accurately.
- Operate a sit‑down forklift to transport large, heavy, and oversized materials safely.
- Assist customers at the service counter by locating and issuing materials.
- Load, unload, and organize inventory within the warehouse and outdoor yard.
- Read and follow work orders to ensure order accuracy.
- Maintain accurate inventory through proper material handling and organization.
- Keep the warehouse and yard clean, organized, secure, and safe.
- Follow all company safety policies and warehouse procedures.
- Collaborate with team members to support daily warehouse operations.
- Perform additional warehouse duties as assigned.
- Minimum of 6 months to 2 years of warehouse experience in an industrial, construction, pipe yard, or distribution environment.
- Minimum of 6 months of sit‑down forklift experience handling large or oversized materials.
- Experience with shipping, receiving, inventory control, and order fulfillment preferred.
- Ability to read and understand work orders.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced team environment.
- Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn and grow.
- Ability to safely lift and move up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Product knowledge related to industrial or construction materials is preferred but can be learned on the job.
