Job SummaryThe Safety Coordinator is responsible for supporting and promoting a safe working environment by assisting in the development, implementation, and enforcement of safety programs and procedures. This role monitors workplace activities to ensure compliance with company policies and government regulations, conducts safety training, investigates incidents, and works closely with employees and management to minimize risks and prevent accidents. The Safety Coordinator plays a key role in fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
Responsibilities- Perform daily safety walkthroughs of the plant to identify potential safety hazards.
- Perform documented EHS audits for systems such as PPE, Ergonomics, Fire extinguishers, etc.
- Able to train employees to safe standards set by Shoals Management.
- Aid in root cause analysis and accident investigations.
- Complete accident investigation initial reports.
- Handle incident and injury response with guidance from onsite health coordinator or EHS Managers.
- Assist with 5S projects such as laying floor tape, labeling materials, creating media, etc.
- Coordinate EHS portion of the new hire orientation.
- Assist with annual safety training.
- Complete data entry such as safety catches and injuries into safety dashboard.
- Assist in EHS related projects as instructed by EHS Managers.
- 2 years manufacturing experience preferred.
- Able to sit or stand for 8 hours a day.
- Knowledge of Microsoft office programs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Has the ability to work independently as well as a cooperative team member.
