This position reports to the Field Service Manager. At ABB, we are dedicated to addressing global challenges through innovation, sustainability, and digital transformation. As a Resident Service Site Manager, you will play a critical role in keeping vital industrial operations running at peak performance, directly contributing to the reliability of a major LNG facility.
Under the direction of the Systems Service Leader, the Resident Service Site Manager works to ensure ABB systems operational stability on site. Duties include but are not limited to system optimization, emergency troubleshooting, and maintenance activities lead, for ABB Medium Voltage (MV) drives and motors.
This role is based full-time at a customer LNG facility in Portland, Texas, where the Site Manager/ABB Resident Representative is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the customer-ABB service requests, directing the diagnosis and resolution of technical issues, and ensuring that the ABB system operates at a high level of system reliability and customer satisfaction. This role emphasizes planning, supervision of technical operations, and hands-on emergency activities.
In this capacity, the Site Manager serves as the primary ABB representative, fostering strong customer relationships, ensuring alignment with contractual and operational objectives, and guiding customer maintenance personnel in the operations of advanced medium voltage drive technologies.

Portland, Texas, USA (Onsite Resident – LNG Facility)
Work Schedule:
Rotational shift – 7 days on site, 12 hours shifts / 7 days off site
The work model for the role is:

This role is contributing to the Motion Service division in the US.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Take ownership of the performance and reliability of ABB Medium Voltage (MV) drives and motors installed at the facility.
- Act as the main point of contact between the Customer and ABB. Lead maintenance and troubleshooting of ABB equipment and diagnose complex technical challenges to deliver effective and timely solutions
- Partner closely with the customer to plan and execute maintenance strategies, including outage planning and support. Provide expert recommendations on spare parts, system improvements, and long-term reliability
- Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and all organizational levels, including senior management. Act as a trusted advisor, sharing knowledge, coaching others, and strengthening customer relationships
- Deliver clear, high-quality service reports and maintain strong communication across all stakeholders
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical or technical engineering field with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
- Valid driver's license
- Authorization to work in the United States
- Ability to communicate with all levels in the organization, from field technicians to senior management
Preferred:
- Previous site management experience
- Experience with Medium Voltage drives and power electronics
- Knowledge of motors, transformers, switch gear, and industrial communication protocols
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, and technical documentation

Physical Requirements:
You will work in a dynamic industrial setting where no two days are the same. This role involves hands-on interaction with advanced equipment and may include working at heights, in varying weather conditions, and around energized systems. Safety, awareness, and professionalism are essential at all times.
Location & Commitment:
- Based full-time at a customer LNG facility in Portland, Texas
- Relocation (or residence within 30-minute commuting distance) required
- Rotational schedule: 7 consecutive 12-hour shifts followed by equivalent time off (7/7 rotation schedule)
