Job Summary:

HCA Healthcare Pathology Services is seeking an Associate Pathologist to be based at Portsmouth Regional Hospital in Portsmouth, NH. Portsmouth Regional Hospital (PRH) is the largest center in our 3-hospital New Hampshire market, which also includes Parkland Medical Center (Derry, NH) and Frisbie Memorial Hospital (Rochester, NH).

HCA Pathology Services consists of over 200 board certified multispecialty pathologists and provides professional services to over 100 HCA Healthcare-owned hospitals as well as commercial clients. We provide expert diagnosis in complex and challenging fields. Among our top priorities is employing the best talent to advance care for our patients.

Qualified Candidates:

• AP/CP board certification or eligibility is required
• Ability to sign out general surgical pathology and perform frozen sections
• New Hampshire licensed or FCVS in place preferred
• Excellent interpersonal skills

Pathology volumes/cases:

• The practice consists of three pathologists
• Case volumes (per pathologist):
  Approximately  surgical cases per year and 700-1000 non-GYN cytology cases per year
• Procedures (per pathologist):
  Fewer than 15 combined frozen sections and rapid on-site assessments per week
• Tumor boards:
  Three per week, shared equally
• Call: shared equally. Responsibilities include handling clinical laboratory calls (avg. 0-1 per night), and (rarely) performing on-site after-hours procedures
• No gyn cytology or autopsy responsibility
• Services providing significant case volumes include GI, breast, GU, thoracic, and general surgery
• All specimens from our New Hampshire market are processed at PRH
