Civil Engineer

Our client, a highly respected and established engineering firm in New England, is seeking a Civil Engineer with Land Development experience to join their Portsmouth, NH office. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a firm known for its technical excellence, strong regional presence, and long-standing relationships across New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Maine.

The team is open to both experienced land development engineers and junior engineers who bring a strong work ethic, curiosity, and a desire to grow within a collaborative and high-performing environment.

• Design and support land development projects including residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments
• Prepare site plans, grading, drainage, utility, and erosion control designs
• Coordinate with municipalities and regulatory agencies throughout NH, MA, and ME
• Support feasibility studies, due diligence, and site investigations
• Perform stormwater, earthwork, and utility calculations
• Collaborate closely with surveyors, project managers, and senior engineers
• Assist with permitting, technical documentation, and municipal responses
• Take on increasing responsibility and project ownership over time

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
• Land Development experience strongly preferred
• Experience working on projects in NH, MA, and/or ME is highly desirable
• EIT certification preferred; PE a plus (or on track to obtain)
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Strong organizational skills, accountability, and attention to detail
