CACI has an opening for a Test Planning Engineer to support test writing and test planning efforts for Los Angeles Class and Virginia Class submarines at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard (PNS) in Kittery, Maine.
Responsibilities:- Development of Test Procedures (TPs) for all assigned 688 & 774 Class submarine non-nuclear systems
- Ensure that the preparation and execution of test documents meet the criteria established by NAVSEA and other source requirements
- Review work accomplished on all assigned systems ensuring work has been properly documented and tested
- Conduct special studies as required which involve unique and complex test engineering problems
Required:
- Electrical/Mechanical/Ocean engineering degree from an ABET Accredited College/University (other degree disciplines may be considered)
- 10 years’ experience with 688 and/or 774 class submarines
- Knowledge of US Navy Shipyard applications including AIM
- Ability to read schematic diagrams, specifications, sketches, Tech Manuals, Process Instructions, Test Procedures and drawings related to trade skills
- Knowledge of Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) and Weapons systems
- Knowledge of SUBSAFE, SOC, and FBW requirements
- Well-developed interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail
- DOD Secret clearance
Desired:
- Related submarine experience with design, maintenance, operations, repair and/or testing
- Electrical power background
- Experience with configuration management and document control
- Ability to achieve excellence working individually or as part of a team
