Project Engineer – Telecommunications Systems
Target compensation: $170,000 + Bonus up to 10%

A leading provider of fiber‑optic technology is seeking a Project Engineer to support the design and implementation of undersea communication systems. These systems form the backbone of international data connectivity, linking continents and enabling high‑speed communication across the globe.
In this position, you’ll collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including R&D, Manufacturing, Marine Operations, Sales, and Project Management—to develop integrated technical solutions for new subsea cable systems. The work is dynamic, technically challenging, and highly impactful.
Key Responsibilities System Design & Technical Development- Use internal engineering tools to develop technical solutions for new subsea telecom cable systems based on customer requirements.
- Define project scope for engineering teams and support Sales in shaping bid strategies.
- Work with product lifecycle teams to identify system‑specific product features.
- Coordinate internal teams to prepare technical proposals and ensure timely delivery.
- Participate in technical discussions with customers during both bidding and project execution phases.
- Provide technical support to Sales during contract negotiations.
- Assist in developing and testing engineering tools, templates, and calculation models.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering workflows and proposal development processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Coursework or experience in fiber optics and telecommunications.
- Understanding of optical networking concepts such as:
- Coherent optical transmission
- DWDM
- ROADMs
- EDFA/Raman amplification
- Strong presentation and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
- Experience in subsea telecommunications or large‑scale network infrastructure.
- Familiarity with system design or modeling tools.
- Full‑time position with occasional travel requirements
