, you will contribute to the planning, design, and delivery of transportation infrastructure projects that improve safety, mobility, and accessibility for the traveling public. • Assist in the design of highways, roadways, intersections, and transportation infrastructure projects.
• Prepare engineering calculations, plans, specifications, and technical reports.
• Develop geometric roadway designs using industry-standard engineering software.
• Support drainage, stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, and utility coordination efforts.
• Assist with traffic analysis and transportation studies.
• Perform field visits to collect data, evaluate existing conditions, and support project development.
• Coordinate with project managers, senior engineers, surveyors, environmental specialists, and other design disciplines.
• Review construction plans and contractor submittals for compliance with project requirements.
• Assist with permit applications and regulatory submissions.
• Participate in meetings with clients, contractors, and transportation agencies.
• Support construction phase services, including responding to requests for information and reviewing field conditions.
• Maintain project documentation and follow quality control procedures.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain certification within one year preferred.
• Internship or co-op experience in transportation or civil engineering is a plus.
• Basic understanding of highway design, transportation engineering, and roadway construction principles.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Willingness to perform occasional field work and site visits.

• Familiarity with DOT design standards and specifications.
• Experience with traffic analysis or roadway modeling software is a plus.
• Desire to pursue Professional Engineer (PE) licensure and long-term career growth in transportation engineering.

• Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideration
• Read, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English language
• Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members
• Able to traverse a construction job site consisting of uneven ground varying in height and consistency of material, with a variation of elevation 19" or less (mud, gravel, rutted ground, etc.)
• Able to wear GPI required PPE, i.e., hard hats, safety vest, work boots, and/or safety glasses/goggles while working
• Able to move equipment or inspection specimens weighing up to 50 pounds
