About Us

Wentworth by the Sea, a Coastal New Hampshire luxury hotel and spa and part of the Opal Collection, is seeking a dynamic, hands-on Housekeeping Manager to join our leadership team. This role is integral to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and guest satisfaction throughout the property.

The Housekeeping Manager supports the Executive Housekeeper and oversees the day-to-day operations of the housekeeping department, including guest rooms, public areas, laundry operations, and team leadership.

Position Summary

The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for assisting in the leadership and management of the housekeeping department to ensure exceptional cleanliness standards, operational efficiency, and an outstanding guest experience. This role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.

Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Development
  • Assist in recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and training housekeeping associates
  • Supervise and motivate a team of room attendants, house persons, and laundry staff
  • Provide ongoing coaching, performance management, and development
  • Conduct daily stand-up meetings and communicate operational priorities
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and accountable work environment
  • Ensure proper staffing levels to meet occupancy and business demands
  • Maintain key control and oversee Lost & Found procedures
Operational Management
  • Oversee daily housekeeping and laundry operations
  • Inspect guest rooms, suites, public areas, and grounds to ensure brand standards are met or exceeded
  • Identify and report maintenance concerns and follow through to resolution
  • Assist in preparing schedules and managing payroll in accordance with labor standards
  • Monitor productivity and department expenses
  • Maintain inventory of housekeeping supplies, linens, and uniforms; place orders as needed
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations
  • Assist in budget management and achieving departmental financial goals
  • Utilize systems such as Info/HMS and HotSOS (preferred)
Guest Experience
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests and concerns
  • Monitor guest satisfaction scores and implement improvement strategies
  • Lead by example in delivering exceptional hospitality
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in housekeeping within a hotel or resort setting (3+ years preferred)
  • Minimum 3–5 years of housekeeping experience
  • Financial and payroll management experience required
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities
  • Proficient with computer systems;
    Opera PMS and HotSOS experience preferred
  • Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
  • Bilingual (Spanish) a plus
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, climbing stairs
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Visual acuity sufficient to inspect cleanliness and safety standards
Schedule
  • Full-time
  • Must be flexible, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: $45,000 – $58,000 annually (based on experience)
