Position OverviewReporting to the Vice President, Information Systems in GIS, the Manager, Enterprise Analytics leads the strategy, architecture, and operations of Albany’s enterprise analytics ecosystem, with a strong emphasis on Microsoft technologies. This role ensures the continuity and optimization of Microsoft‑based analytics solutions, with SAP serving as the primary enterprise data source, particularly from the SAP S/4
HANA platform.
The role drives modernization through the adoption of Microsoft’s analytics stack, such as Azure Synapse Analytics and Microsoft Fabric, integrating SAP data into a scalable, governed, and high‑performing data platform. While SAP remains the core system of record, the focus is on enabling advanced analytics, reporting, and data modeling within the Microsoft ecosystem, supplemented by third‑party tools where necessary.
Additionally, this position establishes and governs a decision‑making framework for analytics architecture, ensuring alignment with Albany’s strategic objectives, data governance standards, and evolving business requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Platform Management:
Maintain and optimize the existing Microsoft analytics stack (Power BI, SSAS, SSRS, SAP data replication), ensuring reliable and secure - Modernization Leadership:
Lead migrations and new cloud‑first builds (MS Fabric); develop transition and coexistence - Fit‑for‑Purpose Framework:
Create and maintain a framework guiding technology selection based on business strategy, performance, cost, compliance, and user - Data Governance & Security:
Collaborate with GIS Compliance and Cybersecurity to implement governance, role‑based access, data cataloging, and - Solution Delivery & Standards:
Set standards for semantic modeling, performance optimization, CI/CD, environment management, and cost governance for Stakeholder
Collaboration:
Partner with business units to translate priorities into analytics roadmaps and measurable - Vendor & Partner Management:
Manage relationships with Microsoft, SAP, other 3rd party tools, and SI partners; evaluate offerings and guide - Team Development:
Mentor team members, define skill sets and training for analytics platforms, and foster continuous
- Understanding of business processes and KPI relevant to global
- 5 years+ developing and managing analytics solutions in an enterprise environment
- Leadership with Microsoft Power BI, SQL, SSAS and SSRS delivering SAP ERP and S/4
HANA data at - Experience architecting with modern tooling from Microsoft, SAP, and 3rd party tools such as:
Microsoft Fabric, SAP Business Data Cloud, SAP Analytics Cloud, and S/4
HANA Embedded Analytics. - Strong grasp of data architecture principles (dimensional/data vault modeling, semantic layers, ELT/ETL, orchestration, performance tuning).
- Ability to design and operationalize governance in regulated/global
- Track record of leading cross‑functional programs and delivering measurable outcomes
- US citizen or permanent resident
- Experience integrating SAP CDS views, ABAP‑managed CDS, and OData with modern data lake architectures.
- Familiarity with CI/CD, Infrastructure‑as‑Code, and Fin Ops for cloud analytics cost
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks (SOX, CMMC) and coordination with GIS Compliance and Cybersecurity.
