This position is contingent upon identifying a candidate whose expertise aligns with our strategic needs
, at which point a funded role will be formally opened. We are proactively seeking a standout professional interested in continuing meaningful Fleet support work ashore.
You’ll support NAVSEA, DoD personnel, and engineering teams with installation, testing, maintenance, validation, and certification of Submarine ARCI sonar systems. Your platform knowledge and acoustic expertise will help ensure high‑reliability performance and readiness across the Fleet.
Responsibilities- Install, monitor, validate, and service sonar equipment and ARCI systems aboard U.S. submarines
- Execute test and evaluation, system check‑outs, certifications, and electronic system verifications
- Review Engineering Change Proposals for technical and equipment impacts
- Assist in implementing Engineering Change Instructions
- Develop technical data including PMS documentation, manuals, troubleshooting guides, drawing updates, maintainability improvements, and test reports
- Provide subject matter expertise to support systems engineering efforts
- Train others on system operation, maintenance, and performance considerations
- Plan and coordinate tasks for other engineering technicians and support personnel
- Establish and maintain logs, databases, inventories, and documentation systems to track project status
- Serve as primary on‑site customer interface for equipment installation, testing, surveys, fabrication, and technical tasks
- Ensure compliance with engineering plans, specifications, documentation standards, and test procedures
- Provide technical evaluations on components, installations, and system performance in alignment with engineering requirements
- Support engineers in proposal development and contribute to technical content assessments
- Perform other position‑related duties as assigned
- Must have an Active Secret US Government Clearance.
Note:
US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance. - Vocational/technical training beyond high school or Navy C School and five plus (5+) years of job‑related experience or equivalent.
- Excellent communications and analytical skills; working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs.
- Ability to investigate, troubleshoot, and design solutions to problems in operational hardware and software.
- Ability to support 10‑15% travel.
- Knowledgeable across multiple submarine platforms and SWFTS systems

This is an hourly, overtime‑eligible position that falls under the Service Contract Act (SCA). In accordance with the Health and Welfare provisions of the SCA, and in addition to your base hourly rate, you may be eligible to receive an additional health and welfare payment for each hour you work to ensure compliance with the minimums set forth by the act.
