Albany International is a leading developer and manufacturer specializing in engineered components and advanced materials processing. The company operates two core businesses:
Albany Machine Clothing, producing essential custom fabrics and process belts for paper manufacturing, and Albany Engineered Composites, delivering advanced materials-based components for aerospace, supporting commercial and military platforms.

GIS provides cutting-edge information systems and technology solutions to Albany’s internal teams and customers. Services include strategy, software development, and maintenance, with a strong focus on customer service for business segments and corporate staff.

Reporting to the Manager, Enterprise Analytics, the Analytics Developer contributes to the development, enhancement, and support of Albany’s enterprise analytics ecosystem, with a strong emphasis on Microsoft technologies. This role works within an established architecture to deliver and optimize Microsoft-based analytics solutions, leveraging SAP as the primary enterprise data source, particularly from the SAP S/4

HANA platform.

The role supports ongoing modernization initiatives through the adoption of Microsoft’s analytics stack, including Microsoft Fabric and Azure-based services, helping to integrate SAP data into a scalable, governed, and high-performing data platform. While SAP remains the core system of record, this position focuses on building and maintaining data pipelines, models, and reporting solutions within the Microsoft ecosystem, with occasional use of third-party tools as required.

Additionally, the developer applies established standards, architectural patterns, and governance practices to ensure consistency, quality, and alignment with Albany’s analytics strategy and evolving business needs, while collaborating closely with team members, architects, and stakeholders to deliver effective data and analytics solutions.

• Support and enhance existing Microsoft BI solutions across SQL Server, SSAS, and SSRS, ensuring performance, reliability, and data accuracy
• Contribute to the migration of legacy analytics assets to Microsoft Fabric, including data models, data pipelines, and reporting solutions
• Develop and maintain scalable data models and semantic layers that transform enterprise data (e.g., SAP) into analytics-ready structures
• Build and support data ingestion and transformation pipelines within the Microsoft ecosystem
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting solutions to enable business insights and self-service analytics
• Assist in integrating Microsoft AI capabilities (e.g., Microsoft Fabric AI features, Azure AI services, and Foundry) into analytics workflows to enhance insights and automation
• Apply established standards and best practices for data modeling, performance optimization, and development lifecycle management
• Collaborate with team members, architects, and stakeholders to deliver analytics solutions aligned with business requirements
• Support data governance, security, and compliance requirements across analytics platforms
