Job Description The nonprofit Gundalow Company seeks a Development Coordinator to implement plans to enhance memberships, sponsor ships, and events. This year-round position collaborates with the office staff team, a board of directors and volunteers through a variety of activities supporting our sailing programs and community events. The ideal candidate will have strong nonprofit development experience.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Assist Executive Director and board committees with donor development work plans
* Develop a successful membership program:
Increase membership offerings and entice new members
* Manage gift processing, donor correspondence, & acknowledgement letters through our donor database - Little Green Light
* Grow Annual Fund contributions
* Cultivate business sponsor ships for our main shoreside events (Piscataqua Riverfest & Round Island Regatta)
* Collaborate with Events Coordinator on special events:
Gundalow Gatherings (Apr), Annual Meeting (May), Sheafe Warehouse events (June/Sept) and others
* Manage grants applied to with the grant committee
* Coordinate “Community Outreach Sails” with local non-profits
* Be an integral part of the office staff with various other tasks
REQUIREMENTS:
* A passion for our mission to:
Protect the Piscataqua region’s maritime heritage and environment through education and action.
* 4-year Bachelor’s degree plus 3-5 years’ experience in non-profit fundraising and donor relations
* Must be driven to increase revenue through increased sponsor ships and events
DESIRED:
* Knowledge of the maritime heritage of the Seacoast NH and Southeastern Maine areas
* Familiarity with regional nonprofits focused on the environmental condition of the Piscataqua watershed
* Experience in designing event materials, Annual Reports, Annual Appeals, and membership appeals
DETAILS:
This is a year-round position. Sailing events occur May through October, with additional fundraising events throughout the off-season. Scheduling and hours may be flexible. This position requires at least 3 days a week in the office located in Portsmouth.
