Position: Long-Term Care Nurse (RN) | Portsmouth, New Hampshire
A nursing role focused on rehabilitation and long-term care is available in a respected inpatient rehab unit. This contract position offers the opportunity to apply specialized skills in a dynamic setting that emphasizes thorough, compassionate patient care with a supportive staff-to-patient ratio.

Location:

The unit is located on the third floor West at a well-equipped facility in the Portsmouth, NH area, known for its dedication to quality rehabilitative services. The rehab unit features 19 beds with specialized equipment including mechanical lifts, Sara steady, Baxter pumps, and Kangaroo pumps, all supported by Meditech EMR technology.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients recovering from various conditions, including medical-surgical cases, stroke, traumatic brain injury, and wound care
  • Manage IV therapy and monitor patients using appropriate medical equipment
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
  • Maintain compliance with unit policies and documentation standards
  • Participate in weekend coverage approximately every other weekend
Qualifications and Desired

Experience:
  • Current RN licensure with a strong background in rehabilitation or medical-surgical nursing
  • Experience with IV therapy is required
  • Preferred candidates will have skills in wound care, stroke care, and TBI management
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required
  • Flexible, kind, and thorough approach to patient care
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with staff-to-patient ratios typically around 6:1
Schedule:
  • Day shift and night shift roles available with a 6:1 patient ratio that varies depending on census
Dress Code and Policies:
  • Plain-colored scrubs preferred, with adherence to unit guidelines
