Overview
Pete and Gerry’s Organics, LLC is seeking a Poultry Field Technician to oversee the New England region. This role is preferably based in one of the New England states and involves day-to-day communications with farmers, on-site service visits, and ensuring health, performance, and compliance of Pete and Gerry’s owned layers and pullets.

Position Responsibilities- Work with the farmers within the region to ensure they know, understand, and implement all standards of care for free-range and pastured raised egg-laying hens.
- Conduct weekly/biweekly on-farm service visits to monitor bird health, efficiency, and egg quality.
- Ensure farmers have all documentation required by HFAC, Whole Foods Market, FDA, USDA Organic, or other certifiers.
- Communicate non-conformances to farmers and the Live Production Manager for swift correction.
- Inform farmers of any egg type changes, ensure proper tagging, and provide necessary supplies.
- Collaborate with local veterinarians and state officials to schedule AI surveillance testing for spent fowl.
- Assist the Live Production Manager with new farm construction projects or other Pete and Gerry’s related tasks as needed.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills; able to communicate at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to schedule and coordinate third-party audits with independent auditors.
- Knowledge and understanding of HFAC Free Range and Pasture Raised egg production standards, Whole Foods Market Outdoor Access and Pasture Raised, USDA Organic, and FDA Egg Rule provisions for SE monitoring and testing.
- Basic understanding of egg quality and on-farm candling.
- Valid driver’s license with good driving history; subject to background screening and MRV review.
- Ability to accommodate limited overnight travel and to travel regularly through VA/PA/NY; company vehicle provided.
- 2+ years of experience in the egg laying industry.
